Finding Time....
I have two small children. so finding time to do yoga is hard. Today for example I tried doing a 30 min online yoga blip from Syl @. About 5 min into it I realized the kiddos were being much to quiet. So I went in to check on them. They were both covered in sunscreen... so bath time. So today I got in 5 min of yoga. Namaste..some day I will figure out how to fit it in.

Online Yoga
Bodhi Yoga where I am training for my teacher certification has launched a wonderful online yoga site. It is only $9.95 a month. So very affordable. I encourage you to check it out! online site .
Eczema
.For the last month I have not been able to practice yoga because my eczema was so bad. The skin on my wrists were thickened to the point I couldnt do Downward Facing Dog. I just itched so much I didnt want to do anything.
But most times when we are sick is the perfect time for some yoga. It may be more beneficial for it to be some restorative yoga and a time to just relax and tune into our bodies. Poses like child pose, savasana, and seated stretching poses are great. Another good option would be pranayama. breath practice.

Personal Practice
Personal practice.... when do you get it in? When you first roll out of bed? Before you fall into bed at night? Whenever works for you works best! The important thing is to get personal practice in. Try for one hour a week. Through personal practice we learn and develop the yoga style that works best for us! So get on your mat in a quite place and just enjoy!

Manifesting
Now i have been trying to think of where/when I want to start teaching yoga. In the last 3 days I have had two options manifest themselves.
The first was on Saturday. I attended a vendors expo here in Price. I approached a booth for a natural healing place that just opened down the street from me. In the conversation it came about that I am working on getting my Bodhi Yoga teaching certificate. The lady let me know that they had been having a lot of people ask about yoga and to come check out the place see if there was a room big enough for yoga. As she would love to have a yoga instructor.
The second was yesterday in my search for Kangen water I went to a place called Wild & Bellish. I had learned from another vendor on Saturday that they sold kangen water there. A friend had come with me. When we arrived at the store it was closed with a sign that said will be back from lunch at 11:30... it was 1:30. My friend said she was pretty sure a place in Helper also sold this water. So we drove over there. When we pulled up to the building it is a YOGA Studio! So we go inside and I just have to look at there studio. Its beautiful. Get talking to the lady and she is BodhiYoga trained as is the instructor who is currently teaching (Sam). And she is looking for someone to teach a daytime yoga class! We both really felt like I was suppose to end up there. So I am going to talk to Juanita Valdez today about teach yoga! @www.livingbalancestudios.com
So when we allow ourselves to be open. Things happen for our good!

The Gunas
The Gunas are divided into three realms. I will first quote Syl Carson on her description and add some of my own understanding.
Sattva- "is the mind and cognitive senses. It is the coordinates of all biological and psychic activities that keep us connected to the physical world. (eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin) the bridge to the outside." from Syl
This is a place I greatly lack. I hope as I learn more about the gunas I can improve upon these energies in my body. Sattva movement is side to side like the gentle swaying of a tree. Sattva is divine or godly nature. when strong in us sattva makes us balanced, pragmatic, truth filled and self realized.
Rajas-"motor response and physical experience. When this guna is predominating the senses of yearning-voice, hands. feet, anus and genitals become active"
Rajastic motion is front to back. It is something I have a lot of. When raja dominates it makes us emotional; can make us angry willful and manipulative.
Tamas- "darkness and inertia. When this guna is predominate the subtle elements become activated such as: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Which give rise to the structures of existence."
This is the other guna I am strong in. An over powerful tamasic energy makes us slothful, inattentive, low vitality, and low mental acuity. It makes us feel heavy and lethargic inside.
There is a place for all the gunas. They also apply to the specific positions in yoga or asanas. I look forward to learning about them more. Different positions can increase, balance, or decrease the energies of the gunas. When i learn more i will teach you more.

Time and Focus
I am someone who really has a hard time staying focused. Time tends to get away from me. But that is whats funny about time sometimes it is running away, sometimes it wont move. When I practice yoga time seems to slow down. But not in the bad dragging kind of way. Yoga makes time more manageable, it gives me focus and the ability to use my time wisely. I am so excited for this weekend to be immersed into yoga again! with Syl at bodhi yoga studio.
Now if only I could focus and use time long enough to do some yoga so I could find that zen.......

2nd Class
Last night I taught my second class. I am giving a free yoga night to a wonderful bunch of military wives whose husbands are currently deployed. This was the second one I have taught them. What can I say it went okay...I just get so nervous and loose my train of thought. But I know that it will get better. This is something that will definitely just take time and practice. Also I need to gain a whole lot more knowledge on the subject.
I cannot wait until the next immersion weekend! That is a great group of ladies. I just love the overall Zen feeling that exists in the bodhiyoga studio. I wish it was closer so I could teach these ladies there. Last night one of the ladies back was giving her a lot of pain. It would have been great to have blocks and bolsters to make yoga enjoyable for her.
I need to take the time and prepare better for my classes so I am not so lost in the sauce of it all. But I did feel comfortable just flowing through some poses for them. So it is getting better one step at a time. With help from Syl at www.gobodhiyoga.com

Balance
I am beginning my journey as a Yogi. Yoga was introduced to me while my husband was deployed to Afghanistan. A wonderful lady donated one morning a week of her time to teach us yoga. It was a light in the darkness for me. Peace in a chaotic world. It is something that has pulled at me ever since. So this last weekend I finally got to dive into the knowledge of being a yoga instructor at Bodhi Yoga in Provo. www.gobodhiyoga.com
I am excited to learn all that Syl has to offer us. It was also wonderful to meet some more like minded people. Its nice to find a greater amount of acceptance. I hope that from all of this I can finally find some Balance....
